Senior Analyst Financial Reporting Job Description

Role Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Analyst Financial Reporting to join our Finance & Accounting department. As a key member of the team, you will be responsible for providing finance support specifically involved in regulatory reporting, accounting, reconciliations, and financial reporting to internal and/or external stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities
  • Analyze financial statements and suggest treatment for assets/liabilities under IFRS 17 and IFRS 9.
  • Prepare financial statements under IFRS 17 and collaborate with the actuarial and ESS teams to ensure accurate financial and management reporting.
  • Prepare, review, and e-file GST returns.
  • Review estimate income tax computation working closely with tax team and external tax agent.
  • Prepare balance sheet variance analysis and liaise with counterparts for variance explanations on balances and movements providing insightful review to manager.
  • Review and analyze cash flow movement on a quarterly basis.
  • Assist in month-end regulatory reporting, including month-end reconciliation of TB and schedules.
  • Coordinate with internal and external auditors to ensure audit deliverables are produced and issued on a timely manner.
  • Manage requests and queries from internal and external stakeholders.
  • Manage and coordinate administrative tasks.
  • Identify opportunities for process improvement within the financial reporting and accounting functions.
Requirements
  • Degree in Accountancy &/or recognized accounting qualification ACCA/CPA/CIMA.
  • Modest working experience in similar capacity in the General Insurance/ Reinsurance industry.
  • Ideal internal/external audit experience with a strong focus in the insurance market and basic knowledge of IFRS17 and tax regulation.
  • Strong knowledge in cash flow and balance sheet accounts.
  • Strong analytical skills and ability to work independently and under own initiative.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Attention to detail and a meticulous eye for identifying inconsistencies or inaccuracies in data entry or data outputs.
  • Able to organize self (and others if applicable) including effective scheduling, prioritization, and time management skills, completing tasks to tight deadlines.
  • Comfortable taking ownership for own work, identifying the need for action (using initiative) whilst working effectively within a team.
  • Advanced knowledge of MS Office Excel, Outlook, Word, Power Point.
