Job Title: Workplace Safety Director

Job Summary:

The Workplace Safety Director plays a pivotal role in driving safety excellence across the organization by overseeing strategic and operational execution of workplace safety programs. This director is responsible for ensuring compliance with legal and internal standards, promoting a proactive safety culture, and implementing sustainability initiatives.

Responsibilities:

  • Program Implementation: Lead the planning and implementation of workplace safety programs to minimize risks and ensure compliance with regulations and industry standards.
  • Risk Management: Implement control measures to eliminate or minimize identified risks, monitor WSH reports, and drive the development of actionable safety plans.
  • Team Leadership: Collaborate with internal teams and external stakeholders to promote safety standards, manage HSE teams, and oversee WSH operations.
  • Compliance and Audits: Schedule regular inspections, audits, and safety assessments to ensure compliance with internal policies and legal requirements.
  • Vendor Management: Assess and monitor third-party compliance with safety and contractual obligations.
  • Training and Development: Plan safety training sessions and workshops to embed best practices and raise safety awareness among employees.

Requirements:

  • Master's degree or above in a relevant field (e.g., Occupational Health and Safety, Engineering)
  • Minimum 8 years' experience with sustainability knowledge and experience, preferably in the warehousing industry.
  • Ability to lead by example and influence a culture of safety.
  • Strong sense of responsibility and commitment to workplace safety.
  • Detail-oriented with a proactive approach to risk management.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Relevant knowledge in ISO 9001, 14001, and OSHA 18001, ISM, ISPS standards and HSE management system is highly preferred.
  • Proficient MS Office skills (e.g., Excel, Words and Power point).
  • Strong analytical, leadership, and strategic thinking skills.
