The School of Biological Sciences at Nanyang Technological University in Singapore invites applications for a Research Associate position in Professor Zbynek Bozdech's group.

Job Description

This role focuses on functional omics studies of the malaria parasite, including Transcriptomics, Proteomics, and Genomics. Key responsibilities include performing bioinformatic analyses on bulk, single-cell, and multi-omics sequencing datasets from diverse sources.

Responsibilities:
  • Perform advanced bioinformatic analyses to identify novel biomarkers, key regulators, mechanisms, or pathways using whole genome sequencing and RNA-seq datasets.
  • Develop and maintain complex bioinformatic pipelines for genomics and transcriptomics processing and analysis.
  • Stay updated on advancements in bioinformatics and data science, integrating new methodologies into research workflows.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to incorporate bioinformatic solutions into broader research projects.
Requirements

A Master's degree in Bioinformatics, Computational Biology, Biology, or Biochemistry is required. Advanced expertise in bioinformatics, with knowledge of population-scale genomics, is essential. Proficiency in programming languages such as R and/or Python is also necessary. Experience working in a Linux/Unix environment is preferred.
