Job Summary:

We are seeking a seasoned Tax Strategist to join our team in the Asia Pacific region. As a key member of our tax department, you will be responsible for developing and implementing effective tax strategies that drive business growth and minimize risk.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and implement tax planning strategies to optimize corporate operations and ensure compliance with global transfer pricing policies.
  • Negotiate with authorities on tax incentives and ensure arm's length transactions for intercompany dealings.
  • Identify customs duty saving opportunities and lead applications for customs rulings/exemptions/incentives.
  • Document agreements and procedures to meet tax and customs regulatory requirements.
  • Assess and mitigate key tax risks and provide advice on dividend distribution and intergroup funding.
  • Develop solutions to mitigate permanent establishment risk and drive tax-related data integrity initiatives.
Project Management:
  • Support tax governance projects/initiatives related to our company strategy and operational businesses.
  • Develop project objectives, implementation plans, and drive execution across various stakeholders.
  • Collaborate on strategic discussions materials and create content for executive-level presentations and reports.
Tax Controversy and Resolution:
  • Review and approve submissions to competent authorities to ensure alignment with our operating structure.
  • Coordinate tax discussions and settlement meetings with authorities.
  • Assist in evaluating settlement outcomes and propose recommendations to senior management.
Tax Compliance and Accounting:
  • Timely review and filing of tax returns within stipulated deadlines.
  • Ensure tax residency requirements are met for entities in the covered region.
  • Approve current and deferred tax expenses provision and ensure tax disclosure requirements are met.
  • Prepare and file CbC notifications and ensure transfer pricing documentations are in place.
