Job Overview

Hao Hong Construction PTE LTD is seeking a highly skilled Quantity Surveyor to join our team. As a key member of our project management team, you will be responsible for ensuring the effective administration of contracts and the implementation of cost management strategies.

About the Role

We are offering a competitive salary of SGD 70,000 - 90,000 per annum, commensurate with experience, to lead our contract administration and cost management efforts. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to work on various construction projects across Singapore.

Responsibilities
  1. Assist the Contract Manager in providing effective support to project management teams by ensuring that contracts are administered in accordance with contractual obligations and effective cost management strategies;
  2. Carry out pre-tender activities in the award of trade packages by conducting site show rounds and ensuring the completeness of tender drawings/documents;
  3. Seek clarifications with respective consultants regarding discrepancies in scope of work and drawings; replace all addendum drawings and BQ pages after clarifications;
  4. Seek quotations from respective trades and follow up on submission of quotations;
  5. Take up quantities as per BQ and detailed breakdown in Excel sheet;
  6. Review tender pricing with Contract Manager; understand project schedule, profit margin, and goodwill discount; attend tender interviews; go through tender reply with Contract Manager and prepare reply accordingly;
  7. Review letters of appointment, contract drawings, and documents, and highlight any deviation from tender;
  8. Attend project kick-off meetings and brief scope of works with project team and management;
  9. Makes arrangements for insurance/factory licence/bond/pre-construction survey, fit-out deposit if required;
  10. Follows up on making arrangements for sample submission;
  11. Attends consultant meeting with Project Manager;
  12. Negotiates with respective supplier and appoints specialist sub-contractors based on trade;
  13. Ensures timely submission of VO cost on day-to-day or weekly basis and communicates with Project Manager; timely submission of monthly progress claims; final account closing;
  14. Submits progress claim on monthly basis;
  15. Follows up effectively on payment certificate and payment with clients;
  16. Certifies sub-contractors' claims based on site progress and quantity;
  17. Requests for AI/EI with respective consultants;
  18. Attends internal and external project closure meetings with consultants;
  19. Submits warranty based on contractual terms;
  20. Ensures PM's submission of as-built drawings and OM manual;
  21. Follows through with landlord on refund of fit-out deposit;
  22. Any other duties as may be assigned.
