Position Overview

The Offshore Field Engineer specializing in Subsea Cable Installation will be responsible for overseeing and managing the installation of subsea cables, with a particular focus on the nearshore installation at the Horizontal Directional Drilling (HDD) exit point. This role entails ensuring the successful installation of the flange at the conclusion of the 3x HDD, the messenger line within the HDD, and coordinating subcontractor activities related to Submarine Cable (SMC) installation, including Inter Array Cables (IAC) and Export Cables (EXC).

Key Responsibilities:

Installation Oversight: Supervise the installation of the flange at the end of the 3x HDD at the nearshore location, ensuring compliance with technical specifications and safety protocols. Oversee the installation of the messenger line within the HDD, collaborating with the project team for efficient and precise execution. Subcontractor Management: Direct subcontractors involved in the SMC installation, ensuring adherence to project specifications and timelines. Coordinate all activities related to the installation of Inter Array Cables (IAC) and Export Cables (EXC), including scheduling, resource management, and quality assurance. Technical Guidance: Offer technical support and guidance throughout the installation process, addressing issues and implementing solutions to ensure all installations meet regulatory and company standards. Conduct inspections and tests to verify compliance. Documentation Management: Maintain comprehensive records of installation activities, including progress reports, technical documentation, and as-built drawings. Prepare and deliver regular updates to project management and stakeholders, emphasizing progress, challenges, and solutions. Health, Safety, and Environmental Compliance: Foster a culture of safety and environmental stewardship, ensuring all activities align with HSE policies and regulations. Conduct safety briefings, risk assessments, and incident investigations as necessary.

Qualifications:

Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Marine, Naval, Civil, or Mechanical Engineering. A minimum of 5 years of experience in offshore transportation and installation, preferably with experience in offshore wind projects. Project Management experience in offshore structure installation. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Excellent time management abilities. Effective communication across all organizational levels. Team-oriented, self-motivated, and capable of leading a team. Willingness to work offshore at project sites, in offices, and fabrication yards. Proficiency in English; Mandarin language skills are a plus.
