Procurement Specialist

As a Procurement Specialist, you will be responsible for building relationships with suppliers, obtaining quotes, reviewing supplier performance, creating purchase orders, and ensuring proper documentation. Your duties will also include understanding the specific characteristics, varieties, and quality standards of various fresh produce items.

  • You will identify and reduce inefficiencies by understanding quality standards between customers and suppliers.
  • Your goal is to conduct cost analysis to identify the most cost-effective sources and logistics solutions.
  • You will combine bulk purchasing and administer supplier claims.
  • You must understand quality control processes to ensure the freshness and safety of procured produce.
  • You will stay updated with industry standards related to food safety and quality.
  • You are expected to efficiently manage the logistics and transportation of fresh produce to minimize spoilage and ensure timely delivery.
  • You need to monitor usage through systems or communication with relevant personnel to avoid stockouts and overstocking.
  • You must ensure the procurement team follows all statutory acts, company policies, and SOPs.

The ideal candidate will have experience in procurement, sourcing, or supply chain management in FMCG or a related industry. You should be able to work in a fast-paced environment and collaborate with various departments. Proficiency in Business Central or other Procurement Software is an advantage. Good communication skills and effective bilingualism are essential. A motivated and driven individual who possesses good analytical and negotiation skills is required. This role involves a 5-day workweek with 44 hours and weekend support (WFH) when necessary.
