Chemical Engineer Role

This position is responsible for ensuring the safety and health of employees in a chemical engineering environment.

Main Responsibilities:
  • Close out ESH activities on a monthly, quarterly, and yearly basis.
  • Source products that meet operational requirements by reviewing quotations and specifications.
  • Cordinate service and delivery schedules with suppliers, and resolve any issues that arise.
  • Communicate with process owners to gather feedback and data on ESH-related activities.
  • Analyze and interpret ESH data to identify areas for improvement, and collaborate with stakeholders to address these issues.
  • Foster a culture of workplace safety through routine inspections, training programs, and educational initiatives.
  • Participate in risk assessments, HAZOP studies, EAI evaluations, and PPE assessments, as well as conduct ESH-related programs.
  • Provide safety inductions to new staff, contractors, and vendors, and ensure compliance with Permit to Work systems.
  • Manage contractor safety, conduct site assessments, and enforce 5S workplace standards.
  • Ensure legal and regulatory compliance, assist in audits, document legal requirements, and communicate changes to relevant parties.
  • Coordinate third-party testing and training (e.g., Industrial Hygiene, Stack Emission, Forklift Refresher, Respirator Fit Testing, Confined Space, First Aider).
  • Drive process safety improvements, design reviews, and management of change (PCA) implementation.
  • Support emergency preparedness, response planning, and site security coordination.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Chemical Engineering / Chemistry, or equivalent qualification.
  • A minimum of one year of relevant work experience.
  • New graduates are welcome to apply.
  • Knowledge of Process Safety Management (PSM) and WSQ certifications (WSH Level C, Work at Height, Confined Space, Incident Management, Risk Management).
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including effective use of functions and formulas.
  • Understanding of ISO standards, Singapore legal requirements, and Management System elements.
