Electrical Power Systems Engineer

GALAMAD AEROSPACE PTE. LTD. is seeking a skilled Electrical Power Systems Engineer to join our team. As a key member of our satellite development program, you will be responsible for designing and implementing the electrical power system for our Low Earth Orbit (LEO) satellite.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and implement a robust power system using solar cells and Lithium-ion Iron Phosphate (LFP) batteries.
  • Analyze and optimize the power needs of the satellite and its payload, ensuring efficient energy use throughout its mission.
  • Oversee the entire electrical architecture, including electromagnetic compatibility (EMC) and harness design.
  • Lead the verification and validation process, guaranteeing the power system functions flawlessly.
  • Collaborate closely with the satellite system engineering team to ensure seamless integration of your design.
  • Support all mission analysis and translate requirements into a powerful electrical system.
  • Author key technical documents, including specifications, budgets, and test plans.
  • Monitor suppliers and the integrated product team, ensuring smooth project execution.
  • Provide expert guidance and support throughout program reviews.
  • Oversee subsystem assembly, integration, and testing, and analyze test data.
  • Author the subsystem operations manual for future reference.
  • Support in-orbit testing to ensure the power system performs flawlessly in space.

Requirements:

  • A Bachelor's degree in Electrical and/or Electronic Engineering.
  • Experience in designing and testing power subsystems for satellites would be great.
  • A deep understanding of the space environment and orbital mechanics.
  • Strong grasp of aerospace systems and engineering principles.
  • A knack for problem-solving, with a combination of analytical, creative, and hands-on skills.
  • Experience leading system integration processes and a meticulous eye for detail.
  • The ability to work independently and thrive in a collaborative environment.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English (French a plus).
  • Prior experience leading and coaching a technical team is a strong asset.
  • A passion for space exploration and a desire to make a lasting impact.
