The Medical Laboratory Scientist plays a crucial role in the laboratory team, performing analysis of clinical samples on both automated and manual platforms. The successful candidate will work to Good Clinical Practice (GCP) standards.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Setup and maintenance of laboratory equipment according to standard operating procedures (SOPs).
  • Performing sample analysis using manual and automated platforms.
  • Entering/validating results using the laboratory IT system and generating worklists.
  • Assisting with instrument and method validations as required.
  • Contribution to revision of department-specific SOPs in conjunction with other functions.
  • Documenting and completing quality documentation within required timeframes.
  • Maintaining a clean and tidy working environment.
  • Participating in internal and external quality assessments as required.

The post-holder is responsible for ensuring all processes are performed in accordance with study protocols, ICH guidelines, Singapore Ministry of Health regulations, health and safety legislation, and human resources policies.

Required qualifications include registration as a BMS or BSc in a relevant scientific subject or equivalent. A minimum of 6 months experience at an accredited laboratory is also acceptable.

The ideal candidate will possess excellent analytical skills, attention to detail, and effective communication skills. They will also be able to work well under pressure and maintain confidentiality.
