We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Medical Laboratory Technologist to join our team at Recruit Express Pte Ltd.

Job Summary:

The successful candidate will be responsible for performing molecular-based clinical diagnostic tests, providing up-to-date molecular testing services, and delivering accurate and timely results to aid clinical decision-making.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Perform molecular-based clinical diagnostic tests on a wide range of sample types, including blood, tissues, swabs, stools, and other body fluids.
  • Provide up-to-date molecular testing services to support better patient management in infectious diseases, genetics, and hemato-oncology.
  • Deliver accurate and timely results to aid clinical decision-making and contribute to the effective management of patient care.
  • Adhere to safety protocols to work with infectious specimens, chemicals, and other hazards.
  • Ensure accurate sample order and patient identification.
  • Process and store specimens according to established operational procedures.
  • Perform moderate and/or high-complexity molecular-based clinical diagnostic tests/tasks according to established operational procedures.
  • Proficient and staying up-to-date on molecular techniques, including nucleic acid extractions, PCR, melting curve analysis, gel electrophoresis, capillary electrophoresis, oligonucleotide hybridisation, microarrays, and next-generation sequencing.
  • Proficient in the operation, calibration, troubleshooting, and maintenance of state-of-the-art laboratory equipment.
  • Perform quality control (QC) procedures as specified in established operational procedures and maintain QC records.
  • Monitor QC and interpret test results as specified in established operational procedures.
  • Maintain complete documentation for assay tracking and results for review/reporting.
  • Remain informed of all relevant process and procedure changes.
  • Assist with the validation, optimisation, and implementation of state-of-the-art technologies for molecular diagnostic testing.
  • Work with supervisors to review and troubleshoot procedures and project assignments.
Requirements:
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; Bachelor's degree in a related field preferred.
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in a molecular diagnostic laboratory setting.
  • Strong knowledge of molecular techniques, including nucleic acid extractions, PCR, melting curve analysis, gel electrophoresis, capillary electrophoresis, oligonucleotide hybridisation, microarrays, and next-generation sequencing.
  • Proficient in the operation, calibration, troubleshooting, and maintenance of state-of-the-art laboratory equipment.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize tasks effectively.
