Job Role:

We are seeking an experienced Oil Trader to join our team. The successful candidate will have a strong background in cargo operations, with a proven track record of managing oil trading activities.

The ideal candidate will have excellent communication and negotiation skills, with the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.

  • Cargo Operations Management: Manage oil trading activities, including setting up documentary instructions, voyage orders, and liaising with inspection companies.
  • Internal Communications: Act as primary contact for internal communications regarding cargoes, including shipping and credit matters.
  • Cargo Position Updates: Update cargo positions promptly and accurately in the company's trading system with all relevant data such as bill of lading dates, volumes, and costs.
  • Relationship Management: Maintain good relationships with colleagues and external clients and counterparties.
  • Ad Hoc Requests: Handle ad hoc operational requests from the Trading Team.

Requirements:

  • At least 3 years of cargo operational experience in an Oil Trading company or Oil Major.
  • Good understanding of shipping, charterparties, voyage orders, documentation, contracts, letters of credit, and invoice preparation.
  • Experience managing storage or blending programs.
  • Ability to manage time-sensitive information and activities effectively.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong negotiation and interpersonal skills.
  • Understanding of commercial contracts and oil industry terminology.
  • Strong organizational, analytical, and facilitation skills.
  • Proficient with computers.
  • Proactive with the ability to work independently.
  • Capable of working under pressure and tight deadlines.
