Job Title: Veterinary Surgical Internship


Job Description:

  • Assist with patient handling and sample collection/analysis; set up and maintain intravenous lines.
  • Attend daily in-patient rounds, as well as Morbidity and Mortality rounds when necessary.
  • Coordinate surgical caseload, including admitting and discharging patients.
  • Assist in surgeries.
  • Induce and monitor anesthesia.
  • Help with administrative tasks related to patient care.
  • Provide out-of-hours emergency service according to the out-of-hours rota.
  • Communicate with referring veterinarians regarding patient condition and treatment updates via email or phone call.
  • Maintain accurate client/patient/surgical/medical records.
  • Participate in CPD and training opportunities agreed upon with management.
  • Read, acknowledge, and act on internal communication and information.

These tasks must be performed strictly in accordance with instructions from the relevant specialist surgeon and senior staff members.
