Rainbow Centre, Singapore is seeking a skilled and compassionate Education Support Specialist to join our team.

The successful candidate will play a vital role in providing Curriculum & Instructional Excellence, facilitating Holistic Student Development, and collaborating for Optimal Student Learning & Development.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Curriculum Planning: Co-plan lessons and design activities and resources to carry out the lessons effectively.
  • Teaching Strategies: Deliver lessons and meaningful activities with appropriate teaching and learning approaches to meet learning needs of students with different profiles.
  • Resource Management: Adopt developmentally appropriate materials and resources to create quality learning environment.
  • Assessment and Evaluation: Implement appropriate modes of assessment, independently or under supervision, to evaluate student needs to develop appropriate individualised learning objectives and outcomes, and for adopting and adapting instructional strategies and accommodations.

Holistic Student Development

  • Relationship Building: Build a strong relationship with students by demonstrating care, concern and encouragement so as to build a physically, emotionally and socially-safe environments to enhance motivation and behaviour, and opportunities for learning.
  • Interventions and Support: Deliver interventions using appropriate methods, tools and assistive technologies to support learning under supervision.
  • Classroom Routines: Implement positive, robust classroom routines and practices that support student learning and engagement.
  • Collaboration: Assist teachers and allied professionals to implement student behavioural plans and collect and monitor data and to support interventions.

Collaboration for Optimal Student Learning & Development

  • Partnerships: Work in partnership with allied professionals and appropriate other internal stakeholders for effective planning and execution of development strategies for the student.
  • Family Engagement: Work in partnership with family members to support student learning across school, home and community.
  • Community Outreach: Assist with the coordination of community stakeholders, volunteers and social service providers to support the implementation of programmes and services.

Programme Administration

  • Inventory Management: Maintain inventories of equipment, materials and supplies.
  • Administrative Tasks: Manage administrative tasks as assigned by reporting officer.

Engagement and Partnerships

  • Centre Initiatives: Support the implementation of the Centre initiatives, family and community initiatives and programmes.
  • Programme Development: Identify areas for improvements for family and community programmes and initiatives.
  • Awareness and Outreach: Support the development of outreach activities to create awareness on the Centre programmes and services.

Job Requirements

  • Qualifications: Possess a Diploma/Degree in related field of study (Psychology, Social Work, Human Services).
  • Candidates Profile: Candidates currently enrolled into SDESN or have relevant work experience will have an added advantage.
  • Physical Demands: Able to handle the physical demands of the role, such as lifting and carrying the students and equipment, and cleaning and maintaining equipment and facilities.
  • Citizenship: Only Singaporeans and Permanent Residents.

We offer a competitive salary of SGD $48,000 - $58,000 per annum, depending on qualifications and experience.
