Occupational Therapist Job Description

This occupational therapist role is available for a locum position, working with children and families. The ideal candidate will be passionate about supporting the development of infants to adolescents.

  • Key Responsibilities:
  • Assess developmental, sensory, and motor skills of children (infants to adolescents)
  • Develop and implement individualized therapy plans to support functional independence in home, school, and community settings
  • Provide interventions for sensory integration, fine motor coordination, handwriting, self-care skills, and play-based learning
  • Collaborate with parents, caregivers, teachers, and other professionals to support child development goals
  • Monitor progress and adjust therapy goals and strategies accordingly
  • Conduct caregiver education and home program training
  • Supervise junior OTs or therapy assistants where required
  • Maintain accurate documentation in compliance with professional and legal standards

Requirements:

  • Min. Diploma / degree in occupational therapy
  • Minimum 3–4 years of relevant experience
  • AHPC registration required
  • Pediatric training is preferred
