Job Title: Optical Engineering Specialist

We are seeking a skilled Optical Engineering Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our engineering department, you will be responsible for designing and developing sophisticated microscopic systems for next-generation medical imaging products.

This is an exceptional opportunity to leverage your expertise in optical engineering and drive product design, system integration, and innovation. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to resolve complex issues and ensure robust system design and safety.

  • Maintain and develop company's flagship microscopic imaging products, focusing on optical system design, imaging specifications, OE/EO interfacing, image processing, optical alignment, and calibration.
  • Partner with software, mechanical, electrical, and QA teams to drive cost and quality continuous improvements.
  • Create comprehensive engineering documentation adhering to good documentation practice (GDP) and regulatory standards such as ISO 13485 and ISO 14971.
  • Diagnose optical issues and implement root-cause solutions, perform hands-on system configuration, testing, commissioning, verification, calibration, service, and maintenance to ensure optimal system performance and minimum operational downtime.

You will have the opportunity to work on challenging projects and make a significant impact on our product roadmap. We are looking for candidates with a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Optics, Photonics, Physics, or related field, and 3+ years of experience in optical/imaging product development.

Requirements:

Education: Bachelor's or Master's degree in Optics, Photonics, Physics, or related field

Experience: 3+ years of experience in optical/imaging product development, including optical path design, design specification, and product V&V

Skills: Strong project management, hands-on engineering skills, communication, and problem-solving abilities

Certifications: Working knowledge of ISO 13485/9001 and ISO 14971 standards

Soft Skills: Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, excellent collaboration and teamwork skills, strong analytical and problem-solving skills
