Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Instrumentation Superintendent to join our team at SBM Offshore. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the safe and efficient installation of instrumentation systems on our projects.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise the installation of instrumentation systems, ensuring compliance with corporate and international engineering standards.
  • Provide guidance and verification of instrument installation during the construction phase of the project.
  • Lead and motivate the team to implement quality assurance, environmental, and HSSE policies.
  • Participate in meetings with company, contractor, and subcontractor representatives.
  • Resolve technical queries associated with instrument work in coordination with project engineers.
  • Supervise construction activities, including testing and inspection.
  • Maintain good communication with project engineers, supervisors, client representatives, and instrument vendor subcontractors.
  • Review and verify instrument construction inspection and test records.

Main Tasks

  • Project Instrument Competency
    • Participate in instrument technical interviews during the recruitment process.
    • Ensure the completion of instrument technical records and project documentation.
    • Liaise with the completions group and participate in final completion checks.
  • Project Safety Audit
    • Perform safety audits during construction activities.
    • Provide leadership and guidance to instrument personnel.

Requirements

  • Instrument technician with at least ONC/HNC or NVQ Level 3 in instrument installation and maintenance engineering.
  • Minimum 15 years' oil and gas experience in instrument engineering and/or construction and/or project management.
  • Previous experience in a similar role is required.
  • Excellent written and spoken English. Other relevant languages are also desirable.
  • 5 years' proven supervisory experience.
  • Excellent practical knowledge of permit to work.
  • Mandatory CompEx hazardous areas IEC & 17 training must be completed and a valid certificate.
