Job Overview
As a seasoned restaurant operations manager, you will oversee daily restaurant activities to ensure exceptional dining experiences. This involves managing staff, driving wine sales, and maintaining high standards of service and hospitality.
Key Responsibilities:
- Supervise kitchen and front-of-house teams for seamless coordination and efficient service delivery.
- Ensure superior food presentation and service quality, adhering to Japanese dining traditions.
- Identify operational challenges and implement strategies to improve efficiency and reduce waste.
- Deliver authentic Japanese dining experiences through personalized service and excellent hospitality.
- Handle customer inquiries, feedback, and complaints professionally and promptly.
- Upsell wine recommendations and enhance guest experiences.
- Maintain strict adherence to food safety, hygiene, and health regulations.
- Ensure cleanliness in kitchen and dining areas at all times.
- Enforce restaurant policies and safety procedures to prevent accidents and injuries.
- Develop seasonal menus, wine-pairing events, and promotions to drive revenue growth.
- Support customer retention strategies through effective staff management and communication.
- Manage online presence and customer reviews as required.
- Monitor and maintain accurate financial records, sales reports, and operational documentation.
- Analyze business performance and suggest data-driven improvements to senior management.
- Report on sales, challenges, and strategic initiatives to inform decision-making.
- Optimize stock levels for ingredients, beverages, and supplies while controlling costs.
- Source high-quality ingredients and wines that meet customer expectations.
- Minimize waste and optimize portion control to maintain profit margins.
Staff Leadership & Training:
- Train and mentor staff in Japanese dining etiquette, customer service, and wine pairing techniques.
- Effectively manage work schedules, assignments, and team performance to achieve business objectives.
- Foster a positive and inclusive work environment that promotes teamwork and employee engagement.
Wine & Beverage Sales:
- Recommend and upsell premium wines, sake, and beverages that complement Japanese cuisine.
- Provide comprehensive wine education and training to staff to enhance their knowledge and skills.
- Curate an exceptional wine list that showcases a diverse selection of wines and sake.
- Organize wine-tasting events and promotions to engage customers and drive sales.
Requirements:
- 3-5 years of experience in a similar role, preferably in Japanese cuisine.
- Strong knowledge of Japanese dining etiquette, restaurant operations, and wine sales.
- Proven track record in staff management, cost control, and inventory management.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Passion for delivering exceptional customer service and creating memorable dining experiences.
- Able to work flexible shifts, including weekends and public holidays.
Working Hours & Conditions:
- Shift work, including weekends and public holidays.
- 5.5-day work week with regular breaks and time off.
