Water Treatment Plant Operator Job Description
Job Summary: This role involves the operation and maintenance of water treatment plants to ensure a safe and efficient supply of clean drinking water. The Water Treatment Plant Operator will be responsible for monitoring and controlling the treatment process, performing routine maintenance tasks, and ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.

Job Responsibilities:
• Monitor and control the treatment process to ensure a consistent and high-quality supply of clean drinking water
• Perform routine maintenance tasks on equipment and machinery to prevent breakdowns and optimize performance
• Conduct regular testing and analysis of water samples to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements
• Maintain accurate records of water production and quality data
• Collaborate with other teams to ensure effective and efficient operation of the plant
• Develop and implement plans to improve water quality and reduce waste
• Participate in training and development programs to enhance skills and knowledge

Required Skills and Qualifications:
• High School diploma or equivalent required; degree in a related field preferred
• Colorado Class D Certification (or equivalent) required; experience working as an operator in a water treatment facility may be substituted for certification
• Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills
• Basic computer skills and familiarity with software applications used in water treatment operations
