Job Summary:

The School of Social Sciences at Nanyang Technological University invites applications for the position of Research Assistant. This role is part of a research project focused on understanding parent-child social interaction and the development of early cognition.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Recruit participants and collect data through various methods, including EEG, ECG, eye-tracking, motion tracking, video, and audio recordings.

  • Design and validate novel affective cognition tasks for infants, ensuring the simultaneous collection of multiple data streams.

  • Assist with data coding and analysis of video and audio data to examine parent-infant social interaction and synchrony.

  • Support graduate and undergraduate research student projects, providing administrative and research assistance as needed.

  • Collaborate with the Principal Investigator and research team to achieve project goals.

Requirements:

  • A good Bachelor's degree in Psychology, Neuroscience, Biomedical Engineering, Medical Sciences, or a related field.

  • Experience with human psychological data collection, working with children, particularly infants, and families.

  • Excellent organizational and time management skills, with the ability to work efficiently and meet deadlines.

  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.

  • Experience with EEG and/or eye-tracking data collection, as well as programming and computational analysis of data.

  • A strong interest in parent-child social interaction and the development of early cognition.
