Job Requirements
- A recognized degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline. Advanced degrees such as a Masters or PhD, along with relevant professional certifications like registered PE, are advantageous.
- A seasoned technical expert with a minimum of 10 years of experience in mechanical design, systems design, or a related field in mechatronics is preferred.
- Desired experience includes: Development and integration of mechanical systems; Selection of materials and components, including knowledge of integrating systems such as actuators, pumps, and hydraulic systems; Proficiency in CAD software like SolidWorks and PTC Creo; Simulation expertise in Finite Element Analysis and CFD; Practical prototyping and fabrication skills to assist students in laboratory settings.
- Familiarity with material testing and properties, control systems, and software tools such as Ansys and Abaqus is beneficial.
- Extensive practical experience and understanding of industry standards to provide valuable insights to the institution.
- A strong interest in innovation projects, with a proven track record of developing solutions to complex technical challenges.
- Excellent supervisory abilities and a passion for engaging with students in an educational context.
- Demonstrated commitment to staying updated with advancements in the field and pursuing professional development opportunities. Possession of relevant industrial certifications will be an added advantage.
