Job Description

The Swimming Coach is responsible for delivering high quality swimming programmes adhering to the in-house swimming programme of the swim school.

Key Objectives:

  • To design and deliver engaging swimming lessons for participants of all ages and abilities.
  • To maintain a safe and supportive learning environment that encourages swimmers to reach their full potential.

Responsibilities Include:

  • Planning and delivery of swimming lessons in line with the centre’s policies and procedures.
  • Assessment and development of individual swimmers, identifying areas of strength and weakness, and setting achievable goals.
  • Maintaining accurate records of participant progress and lesson plans.
  • Contributing to the continuous improvement of swimming programmes through feedback, suggestions and participation in training and development opportunities.
  • Providing support and guidance to less experienced coaches and staff members as required.
  • Participating in centre events and promotional activities as requested.

Skills and Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 1 year relevant teaching experience an advantage.
  • Recognized swim teacher certification or degree in Physical Education an advantage.
  • Able to conduct programmes for Babies, Preschool, Learn to Swim, Competitive, Adults.
  • Fluent in English.
  • Ability to speak in an additional language an advantage.
  • Flexibility to work weekdays, evenings and weekends/public holidays.
  • Enthusiastic and positive attitude towards swimming.
  • Excellent communicator with both children and adults.
  • Possess the ability to inspire confidence and motivate swimmers.
  • Perseverance and patience.
  • A good understanding of how to differentiate in a teaching session.
  • Professional, punctual and well-organized person responsible for the implementation, development and organization of swimming classes.
