Job Title: Airport Operations Specialist

As a key team member, you will be responsible for maintaining and operating the Baggage Handling System (BHS) at a major international airport.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Performing daily inspections of the BHS system to ensure smooth operation
  • Responding quickly to faults and obstructions in the BHS system
  • Performing electrical and mechanical servicing during off-peak hours
  • Carrying out regular and planned service tasks during off-peak hours
  • Working rotating shifts to meet the demands of airport operations
  • Supporting colleagues with their duties as needed

As a Technical Officer, you will also be responsible for:

  • Reporting to the Shift Engineer on all system-related issues
  • Ensuring that the system is operating normally
  • Monitoring the system for faults and other issues related to baggage flow
  • Overseeing technicians in the discharge of their duties
  • Ensuring prompt response to all faults by despatching technicians to attend to them immediately
  • Providing regular status updates to the Shift Engineer on all system-related faults

Requirements:

  • ITE or Diploma in a relevant field or any equivalent qualification
  • Experience in BHS and electrical backgrounds is an advantage
  • Willingness to be deployed to other functions at short notice
  • Ability to work in a restricted area and obtain an airport pass
