Job Description

As a Storage Engineer, you will be responsible for the administration and management of storage systems, ensuring data integrity and availability. Your primary goal is to design, implement, and maintain high-performance storage solutions that meet customer needs.

">Key Responsibilities:
  • Collect and analyze storage log information to identify trends and areas for improvement.
  • Review provisioning configurations, provide suggestions for optimization, and recommend changes to procedures.
  • Test and verify configuration changes, new patches, or software releases.
  • Manage change requests through participation in planning, approval, and implementation.
  • Generate regular operational reports using customer-supplied tools or Huawei's proprietary tools.
  • Participate in capacity measurement and planning, including forecasting and attending to vulnerabilities on Huawei's storage hardware and software products.
  • Develop and deliver recommendations for customers outlining areas for significant improvement.
  • Assist in training customer staff on efficient methods of utilizing Huawei solution capabilities.
  • Coordinate change control processes with customers.
  • Participate in Root Cause Analysis reviews when applicable.
Requirements:
  • At least 5 years of experience in IT storage environments.
  • Familiarity with storage environments.
  • Hands-on experience with storage configuration and data migration.
  • Familiarity with technical principles of disaster recovery, backup solutions, and data migration solutions.
  • Daily monitoring and incident support experience.
  • Basics in OS concepts, including Windows, Linux, and Unix Systems Administration (Ubuntu, CentOS, Red Hat, Solaris, AIX).
  • Excellent English communication skills.
  • Strong customer focus and multitasking skills.
