English Assistant Teacher Job Description

The primary role of the English Assistant Teacher is to support the lead teacher in delivering high-quality lessons to students. This involves working closely with the lead teacher to develop and implement engaging lesson plans, as well as providing individualized support to students who require additional assistance.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assist the lead teacher in planning and preparing lessons, including developing educational materials and resources.
  • Provide one-on-one support to students who need extra help understanding a concept or completing an assignment.
  • Re-teach or explain concepts from the lead teacher's lesson in a different way to struggling learners.
  • Circulate around the classroom during independent or group work to answer questions, provide guidance, and keep students on task.
  • Help set up materials for lessons, activities, and prepare learning centers.
  • Ensure the physical and emotional safety of all students at all times.
  • Grade objective homework, quizzes, and assignments based on answer keys provided by the lead teacher.
  • Help keep the classroom, supplies, and learning centers tidy and organized.
Requirements:

To be successful in this role, you will need to have:

  • Experience in teaching or tutoring offline English.
  • A fluent English speaker with a neutral accent.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
