Senior Backend Software Architect Job Description

As a seasoned Senior Backend Software Architect, you will drive technical leadership across teams and domains. You will be responsible for architecting and driving the development of high-performance systems that align with business objectives.

  • System Architecture: Design and review scalable, fault-tolerant, and secure system architectures, including multi-region disaster recovery and strong data consistency.
  • Technical Leadership: Provide domain expertise and guidance across multiple teams; drive cross-functional architectural discussions.
  • Business Alignment: Translate complex business requirements into scalable technical solutions, considering long-term product and company strategy.
  • Mentorship & Collaboration: Coach engineers, drive knowledge sharing, and cultivate a culture of continuous improvement and innovation.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

Technical Requirements
  • Bachelor's Degree in Computing, Software Engineering, or related field.
  • Minimum 8+ years of experience in backend system design and development.
  • Tech Stack Expertise: Deep expertise in Java, with mastery of backend frameworks (e.g., Spring Boot, WebFlux), messaging systems (e.g., Kafka), and distributed databases (SQL/NoSQL, Redis, etc.).
  • Architectural Skills: Experience designing and scaling large distributed systems with a focus on performance, availability, security, and resilience.
