Job Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled Data Engineering Lead to drive the architecture, development, and scaling of a best-in-class data platform.

This role begins as an individual contributor with full ownership of the build-out, with the mandate to grow and lead a team as the function expands.

Key Responsibilities
  • Taking full ownership of a greenfield data platform, from architecture design to implementation.
  • Builidng scalable, secure, and cloud-native data pipelines and infrastructure to support investment and trading strategies.
  • Partnering with portfolio managers, quants, and data scientists to capture requirements and deliver high-value data solutions.
  • Designing and implementing modern ETL/ELT workflows for diverse datasets (structured, semi-structured, and unstructured).
  • Defining best practices for data engineering, including CI/CD, testing, monitoring, and governance.
  • Evaluating and adopting cutting-edge technologies to ensure the platform's scalability and resilience.
  • Mentoring and leading a team of data engineers as the platform matures.
Required Skills and Qualifications
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.
  • 8+ years of experience in data engineering, with proven experience leading or architecting large-scale data solutions.
  • Strong programming expertise in Python (e.g., Pandas, PySpark) for production-grade pipelines.
  • Hands-on experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP) and related data services (e.g., S3, Redshift, BigQuery, Databricks, EMR).
  • Strong SQL skills and familiarity with both relational and NoSQL databases.
  • Experience with distributed systems and streaming technologies (e.g., Spark, Kafka).
  • Familiarity with DevOps and infrastructure-as-code tools (e.g., Terraform, CloudFormation).
  • Excellent stakeholder management skills with the ability to partner with front-office teams.
