Cartographic Assistant

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced professional to join our team as an Assistant / Deputy Hydrographer (Cartographic) on a 2-year contract basis.

As a key member of our Hydrographic Division, you will be responsible for providing hydrographic, cartographic, and aids to navigation products and services to ensure safe navigation and protect Singapore's interests in Singapore waters.

• Conduct research on the interpretation and application of the United Nations Convention on the Law of the Sea
• Analyse information through Geographical Information Systems (GIS) applications and prepare assessment reports
• Provide technical assessments on strategic hydrographic matters
• Manage internal and external clients to provide hydrographic information and assessments to meet client requirements
• Manage projects and prepare reports for the Hydrographic Division
• Develop and deliver training on subject matter

To be successful in this role, you will need to possess a qualification in a relevant discipline such as Engineering, Nautical Studies, or Information Technology. At least 2 years of prior working experience in land surveying, cartography, or geographical information/computer-aided design systems is highly desirable.

You must be independent, resourceful, meticulous with an eye for detail, and a good team player with excellent interpersonal and communication skills.

This is a 2-year contract appointment in the first instance.
