Job Title: Global Materials Strategist

We are seeking an experienced and skilled Global Materials Strategist to join our team. As a key member of our procurement function, you will be responsible for developing and executing strategic sourcing strategies for raw materials and components.


Main Responsibilities:
  • Materials Strategy Development: Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop and implement comprehensive sourcing strategies that align with our business objectives.
  • Supplier Management: Identify, evaluate, and manage suppliers to ensure quality, cost, delivery, and compliance standards are met. Negotiate contracts and lead supplier relationships.
  • Market Intelligence: Monitor global market trends, price fluctuations, and supply chain risks in the materials industry. Provide insights and forecasts to stakeholders.
  • Cost Optimization: Develop and execute initiatives to reduce costs through value engineering, alternative sourcing, and long-term partnerships.
  • Cross-functional Collaboration: Work closely with manufacturing, quality, and finance teams to ensure procurement strategies align with product development and operational needs.
  • Sustainability & Compliance: Ensure sourcing practices comply with environmental regulations and support our sustainability goals, including recycled and bio-based materials.
  • Data Analysis & Reporting: Analyze spend data, supplier performance metrics, and market indices. Prepare regular reports and presentations for senior management.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Engineering, Business, or related field.
  • Minimum 7–10 years of experience in commodity management or strategic sourcing, preferably in the materials or manufacturing industry.
  • Strong negotiation, analytical, and project management skills.
  • Deep understanding of materials, global supply markets, and sustainability trends.
  • Proficiency in ERP systems (e.g., Epicor) and procurement tools.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
