About the Role
This is a highly specialized position that requires exceptional medical expertise and underwriting knowledge to assess and manage complex medical risks.
The successful candidate will play a crucial role in elevating our life insurance business through sound medical underwriting, proactive claims management, and expert opinions on complex claims assessment and medical claims adjudication.
Responsibilities
- Evaluate medical and underwriting risks for insurability, providing objective assessments and recommendations.
- Contribute medical expertise to the design of new insurance products, advising on medical trends and implications for product features.
- Develop and implement best practice guidelines to enhance consistency, quality, and strategic alignment across underwriting teams.
- Represent the organization in underwriting-related committees, promoting collaboration and knowledge sharing.
Requirements
To excel in this role, you must have:
- A minimum of 10 years of underwriting experience or related experience in an insurance or reinsurance company.
- A medical degree from a recognized institution.
- Strong analytical and communication skills, with the ability to distill complex information into actionable insights.
- A good understanding of life insurance business and its financial aspects, as well as commonly seen medical conditions locally and their treatment protocols.
