
Vector-Borne Pathogen Laboratory Specialist

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Vector-Borne Pathogen Laboratory Specialist to join our dedicated team. As a key member of our laboratory, you will play a vital role in supporting public health efforts through diagnostic testing and surveillance of vector-borne pathogens.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct routine diagnostic testing for arboviruses and other vector-borne pathogens using PCR or serology methods.
- Support laboratory-based surveillance efforts to track disease transmission trends and inform public health responses.
- Ensure workflows are performed in accordance with standard operating procedures (SOPs) and maintain high-quality data records.
- Collaborate with laboratory colleagues to achieve shared goals and objectives.
- Assist in data collection and reporting to support public health decision-making.
Requirements:
- A degree in Biomedical Sciences or a related field.
- Experience working in a Life Sciences laboratory environment and familiarity with PCR or serology testing is an advantage.
- Ability to work accurately and efficiently in a fast-paced laboratory setting.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with attention to detail and ability to multitask.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively as part of a team.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and ability to learn new software systems quickly.
- Physical and mental fitness to work in a Biosafety Level 2 (BSL-2) laboratory environment.
- Flexibility and willingness to work overtime when necessary.
