Senior Engineer Piping-Benoi Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Senior Engineer to lead our piping team. As a key member of our engineering team, you will be responsible for planning and coordinating the effective utilization of manpower and material resources in our department. You will work closely with other departments to ensure daily production schedules are met, monitor drawings and technical information issuing schedules for projects, and attend assigned project progress and HAT meetings.


Responsibilities
  • Plan for effective utilization of manpower and material resources in the department.
  • Coordinate and liaise with other departments on daily production schedules.
  • Monitor drawings and technical information issuing schedule for Projects.
  • Attend assigned Project progress and HAT meetings.
  • Assess staff work performance under his charge as required.
  • Identify training needs for the men under his charge.
  • Monitor job progress, man hours, and productivity of the assigned job.
  • Study and evaluate the work processes and methods of the department.
  • Explore new ideas to improve work quality and productivity.

Quality Responsibilities
  • Evaluate technical and engineering requirements of the jobs, and review drawings.
  • Resolve any technical problems or issues with OEM, class, or owner on site.
  • Monitor and ensure quality work is produced at the targeted schedule.

Safety Responsibilities
  • Participate in department safety work plan.
  • Conduct activities that meet regulatory requirements.
  • Attend VSCC meetings if necessary.

Span of Control
  • New Construction:
    • Responsible for up to 4 CHs & 48 workers (Yard Man) or 5 Supervisors & 60 workers (Contractors).
  • Repair:
    • Responsible for up to 4 CHs & 48 workers (Yard Man) or 4 Supervisors & 48 workers (Contractors).

Requirements
  • Degree in Mechanical or Marine Engineering.
  • Work experience in the Marine industry or Refinery Piping works, preferably 4 – 5 years.
  • Knowledge of Classification requirements and Ship Building Standards.
  • Knowledge of Shipboard Piping Systems Design.
  • Knowledge of piping systems, control systems, and their classification requirements.
  • Able to interpret technical piping system drawings and specifications.
