Senior Manager, Material Strategy

Job Description:

This role is a critical part of our centralized materials library across apparel brands. The Senior Manager will play a key role in supporting the strategic leadership and operational excellence of the materials library.

The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of textile and material science, including performance and lifestyle materials. They will also have strong knowledge of supplier segmentation, mill capabilities, and sourcing strategies.

Responsibilities include developing and maintaining a strategically segmented mill base that supports VF's Apparel Sourcing strategy, incorporating SPM results to evaluate and optimize Tier 2 supplier performance, and partnering with Material Sourcing teams to gather business inputs and translate them into mill portfolio strategies.

The Senior Manager will also drive material rationalization and consolidation efforts, lead seasonal and lifecycle reviews of core materials, and oversee the planning and management of material lifecycle, including onboarding, circulation, inventory, and end-of-life transitions.

Additionally, the role requires leading cross-functional projects, influencing stakeholders at all levels, and communicating effectively with excellent storytelling skills.
