About the Role:

We are looking for a highly skilled and experienced Senior Kitchen Assistant to join our team. As a key member of the kitchen staff, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of the kitchen, assisting the Head Chef in food preparation and presentation, and maintaining the highest standards of hygiene and safety.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist the Head Chef in food preparation, including cleaning, chopping, and cooking ingredients.
  • Clean and sanitise all kitchen equipment and utensils, adhering to health and safety guidelines.
  • Manage inventory levels, ordering supplies, and ensuring that all kitchen stock is stored safely and efficiently.
  • Work closely with other kitchen staff to maintain a clean and organised kitchen environment.
  • Participate in menu planning and development, suggesting new dishes and improving existing ones.
  • Maintain accurate records of food costs, inventory, and kitchen expenses.
  • Adhere to health and safety regulations, reporting any incidents or concerns to management.
  • Collaborate with other departments to ensure seamless service delivery.

Requirements:

  • Proven experience as a Senior Kitchen Assistant or equivalent role.
  • Degree in Culinary Arts or related field (desirable).
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
  • Knowledge of kitchen safety and sanitation procedures.
  • Basic computer skills and familiarity with point-of-sale systems.
