About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Mechanical Solutions Engineer to join our team at Rolls-Royce Power Systems. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for overseeing and bringing expertise to our mechanical solutions engineering efforts.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and manage complete scope from initiation to onsite delivery of mechanical systems related to diesel genset enclosures.
  • Work closely with sales to define technical scope (mechanical) and review/clarify customer's specifications & tender documents.
  • Provide technical specifications and define scope of supply for equipment, coordinate with factory and local suppliers to harmonize scope of supply, and work with suppliers/contractors to quote for equipment and obtain proposals timely.
  • Define mechanical systems requirements for walk-in genset enclosures suitable for project needs, provide design and prepare drawings and documents for customer's technical requirements, calculate, verify, and select right equipment/suppliers, and use computerized engineering tools/database, technical library information, and factory standards for solution engineering work.
  • Verify and confirm shop drawings, P&ID, datasheets, and similar technical documents to ensure customer specification compliance, finalize equipment scope and specifications, collaborate with internal departments to procure equipment, raise purchase requisitions for scope of supply, and support execution team to resolve technical issues related to mechanical systems during project execution.

Requirements

  • University/college studies in Mechanical engineering.
  • Proven experience in diesel engine/generator industry, min. 5 years with track record of successfully delivered projects and solutions.
  • Solid understanding of Cooling system, Fuel system, Ventilation system of a diesel generator set and ability to integrate understanding into designing a genset enclosure.
  • Knowledge of engineering calculation for genset mechanical systems, for e.g., sizing calculation.
  • Demonstrating ability to conceptualize and execute complex mechanical designs and bring cost benefit to customer.
  • Knowledge of data centers, switchgear, and electrical power protection would be an added advantage.
  • Understanding of Asian cultures and business practices.
  • Excellent team player with open mindset, collaborative spirit, and exceptional communication skills, capable of effectively engaging with diverse teams and stakeholders to achieve common goals.
  • Willingness to travel for onsite jobs when needed, demonstrating flexibility and adaptability to meet project requirements and deadlines effectively.
  • Proactive and positive attitude.
  • Proficient in 2D/3D CAD software.
  • Proficient in English language.
