Portfolio Management Specialist

This is an exciting opportunity to join our team as a Portfolio Management Specialist.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Oversee high-volume, small line size portfolios across APAC to ensure alignment with overall business objectives.
  • Collaborate closely with local teams to provide guidance and support in portfolio management strategies tailored to regional needs.
  • Analyse and refine workflows to address inefficiencies and optimize accuracy for high-volume transactions.
What You'll Be Doing:
  • Smoothly transition current providers' responsibilities back to the in-house team.
  • Develop best practices in local markets.
  • Ensure projects and practices align with Sompo's broader capabilities and strategic goals.
Analytics Support:
  • Assist local teams with PML planning.
  • Enhance portfolio reporting through tailored analysis for decision-making.
  • Support the development and refinement of pricing models.
Event & Model Management:
  • Manage event response activities outside the global process.
  • Conduct light-touch model validation to complement existing responsibilities.

Portfolio Management Expertise: In-depth knowledge of Catastrophe portfolio management, particularly for high-volume, small line size portfolios.
Technical and Analytical Skills: Proficiency in managing complex technical data, with the ability to interpret analytics and guide market education.
Strategic Development: Experience in developing and implementing best practices for portfolio management to support continuous improvement and efficiency.
Market Collaboration: Strong capability to work with local and regional teams, providing guidance and education to enhance market understanding and alignment with strategic goals.
Technical Skills: Proficient in catastrophe modelling tools, primarily RMS; strong command of SQL and advanced Excel skills for data analysis.

Requirements: In-depth knowledge of Catastrophe portfolio management, particularly for high-volume, small line size portfolios. Proficiency in managing complex technical data, with the ability to interpret analytics and guide market education. Experience in developing and implementing best practices for portfolio management to support continuous improvement and efficiency. Strong capability to work with local and regional teams, providing guidance and education to enhance market understanding and alignment with strategic goals. Proficient in catastrophe modelling tools, primarily RMS; strong command of SQL and advanced Excel skills for data analysis.
