Job Responsibilities
We are seeking a highly motivated individual to join our team as a Public Programmes Assistant. The successful candidate will be responsible for supporting the museum with daily operations, including welcoming school and corporate groups and public visitors. They will perform shift responsibilities, including weekends and public holidays, and be accountable to the Assistant Manager/Manager for the smooth running of the day-to-day shift operations.
The Public Programmes Assistant will work closely with the Programmes Team on delivering educational offers such as tours, workshops, online programmes, and events to schools and the public. They will engage with Museum's visitors in a positive and professional manner, inspire and inform visitors of exhibitions and galleries within the Museum. Providing excellent customer service to school groups and public visitors is essential, along with projecting a professional impression of the Museum both verbally and in appearance.
The ideal candidate will be fully knowledgeable on all Standard Operating Procedures and all exhibitions relevant to the Museum. They will liaise with the Assistant Manager/Manager on daily and weekly roster patterns, including weekends and public holidays. Additionally, they will assist with administrative processes, such as updating websites and attending to enquiries.
