Job Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled Landscaping and Hardscaping Specialist to join our team at SMART CITY INTEGRATED CONSULTANCY. As a key member of our outdoor services team, you will be responsible for creating, maintaining, and enhancing outdoor spaces and landscapes for residential, commercial, and public properties.

About the Role

  • Landscape Installation and Maintenance: You will design, install, and maintain various landscaping features such as trees, shrubs, flowers, and other greenery based on client specifications. This includes laying sod, seeding lawns, and maintaining turf areas, as well as installing and ensuring proper functioning of irrigation systems.
  • Hardscaping and Construction: You will build and maintain patios, walkways, retaining walls, and other hardscape features using tools and machinery like mowers, trimmers, excavators, and backhoes. Additionally, you will assist with drainage systems, grading, and erosion control.
  • Horticultural Care: You will perform tasks like pruning, weeding, fertilizing, and pest management to ensure the health and beauty of plants. You will also monitor plant health and implement care plans as needed, taking into account soil types, plant nutrition, and climate suitability.
  • Equipment Operation and Maintenance: You will safely operate and maintain landscaping tools and equipment, performing routine checks and minor repairs as necessary. You will also keep the worksite clean, organized, and safe.
  • Client and Team Interaction: You will communicate effectively with clients to understand their landscaping goals and collaborate with team members to execute projects efficiently. You will provide recommendations for landscape improvements and upgrades.

Requirements and Qualifications

  • Education and Experience: A high school diploma or equivalent is required; certification in landscaping or horticulture is a plus. Proven experience in landscaping, groundskeeping, or related fields is essential.
  • Skills and Knowledge: You should have knowledge of plants, irrigation systems, and landscape construction. Physical stamina and the ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions are also required. Familiarity with landscaping tools and machinery is necessary.
  • Skillset and Attributes: Strong attention to detail and an aesthetic sense are crucial. Ability to interpret landscape designs and blueprints is required. Good communication and teamwork skills are essential. Problem-solving abilities to address site challenges are necessary. Commitment to safety protocols and environmental stewardship is expected.

Work Environment and Physical Requirements

  • Work Environment: Primarily outdoor work involving physical activity. Exposure to varying weather conditions, including heat, cold, and rain. May require flexible working hours, including weekends during peak seasons.
  • Physical Requirements: Ability to lift and carry objects up to 50 lbs. Prolonged periods of standing, bending, and kneeling. Capability to use hand and power tools for extended periods.

Compensation
