Job Description:

As a kitchen assistant, your primary role will be to support the food preparation and presentation team in our school. This involves assisting the teaching staff with the planning and preparation of meals for daily lessons.

You will be responsible for receiving and storing groceries, ensuring that all food is handled and stored in a hygienic manner. This includes maintaining accurate stock levels, rotating stock and labeling it clearly with expiry dates.

Additionally, you will be expected to inform teachers when ingredients are insufficient and ensure that high standards of hygiene and safety are maintained at all times in the two kitchens. This includes daily general cleaning, sweeping and mopping floors, cleaning table tops, sinks, cookers, stoves, and kitchen equipment. You will also be responsible for washing all crockery, utensils and cloths after use.

Daily disposal of garbage bags to bins outside the kitchens is also part of your duties. Furthermore, you will need to maintain excellent health and hygiene procedures during food preparation and perform stock-take duties of consumables such as detergents.

Any other duties assigned by FCE teachers, HOD/Aesthetics and School Leaders will also be part of your responsibilities.


Required Skills and Qualifications:
  • A Primary Education with PSLE or equivalent certification.
  • 1 year of experience in basic food handling & preparation in the school kitchen environment.
  • Ability to read and converse in basic English.
