Movement Therapy Professional

This role combines psychology, body movement, and creative expression to support individuals in overcoming challenges and achieving holistic wellness.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and facilitate movement-based interventions for emotional expression, psychological well-being, and physical health.
  • Assess clients' needs and develop customized movement-based programs.
  • Collaborate with psychologists, counselors, and educators to integrate movement therapy into broader therapeutic or educational settings.
  • Use movement, dance, and body awareness techniques to enhance self-expression, stress management, and interpersonal skills.
  • Maintain accurate records of client progress and treatment plans.
  • Develop and lead workshops and training sessions to promote the benefits of movement therapy.
  • Stay updated on the latest research and practices in dance/movement therapy, somatic therapies, and expressive arts.
Qualifications and Skills
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Dance/Movement Therapy, Expressive Arts Therapy, Psychology, or a related field.
  • Certification in Dance/Movement Therapy or equivalent professional training (preferred).
  • Experience working in clinical, educational, or community settings with diverse populations.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Empathy, creativity, and ability to adapt interventions to meet individual client needs.
Preferred Expertise
  • Knowledge of trauma-informed practices.
  • Experience working with children, adolescents, or individuals with special needs.
  • Ability to integrate music, mindfulness, or other expressive arts into sessions.
  • Multilingual abilities (a plus).
