Job Description

The role of Marine Safety Standards Manager is pivotal in maintaining safety standards and driving continuous improvement within the company's operations.

This individual will be responsible for developing and implementing a comprehensive Safety Management System (SMS) that aligns with international regulations and ensures compliance across all departments.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Developing and harmonizing company SMS, QHSSE policies, and procedures.
  • Proposing a continuous performance improvement plan to enhance safety and risk management.
  • Leading the analysis of incidents, proposing corrective actions, and tracking their effectiveness.
  • Organizing annual management reviews and monitoring regulatory compliance.

This position requires strong leadership and communication skills, as well as experience in maritime operations, safety management, and project management.

Proficiency in Microsoft Office and other office tools is essential, along with excellent negotiation, leadership, risk assessment, and ISO certification skills.

Required Skills and Qualifications

8-10 years of experience in maritime operations, with at least 2-3 years in a managerial or supervisory role.

ISM and ISO internal auditor certificates, solid understanding of ISM code, MLC & ISPS, and other IMO conventions.

Hands-on experience with ship management software, especially QHSSE, PMS modules.

Experience in preparing reports, newsletters, root cause analysis, incident investigation, process management, and exposure to ISO standards of ISO 9001, 14001, and 45001.

Language proficiency: English - Fluent.
