Attractive Job Opportunity for a Health Insurance Underwriter

We are seeking an experienced and skilled Health Insurance Underwriter to join our dynamic underwriting team. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for evaluating and underwriting new and renewal Accident & Health (A&H) treaties, ensuring profitability, compliance with company standards, and alignment with the company's risk appetite.

To be successful in this role, you should have 5-15 years of experience from an insurance, reinsurance, or consulting background, with a strong focus on health insurance product pricing and analytics. Exposure to the APAC market is essential.

About the Role
  • Evaluate and underwrite new and renewal A&H treaties to ensure profitability and compliance with company standards.
  • Develop and maintain health product pricing models and perform actuarial analysis to guide decision-making and improve underwriting strategies.
  • Monitor market trends, competitor offerings, and regulatory changes within the APAC region to provide insights and recommendations for shaping underwriting strategies and product offerings.
  • Collaborate with cedants, brokers, and other stakeholders to manage partnerships and drive growth, negotiating terms and conditions to ensure optimal deal structures.

  • Market Insights & Strategy: Monitor market trends, competitor offerings, and regulatory changes within the APAC region to provide insights and recommendations for shaping underwriting strategies and product offerings.
  • Relationship Management: Collaborate with cedants, brokers, and other stakeholders to manage partnerships and drive growth, negotiating terms and conditions to ensure optimal deal structures.
Required Skills and Qualifications
  • Experience: 5-15 years of experience from an insurance, reinsurance, or consulting background, with a strong focus on health insurance product pricing and analytics.
  • Technical Skills: Strong knowledge of A&H insurance products, risk management principles, and pricing models, proficiency in analytical tools and software used for pricing and underwriting.
  • Educational Background: A degree in Insurance, Mathematics, Actuarial Science, Finance, or a related field, actuarial qualifications or other industry certifications will be an advantage.
