Lead Drone Systems Architect

Job Description:

We're seeking a highly skilled and experienced Lead Drone Systems Architect to head up the design and deployment of autonomous drone systems for real-world missions. This is an exciting opportunity for a talented engineer to take charge of leading a small team and overseeing projects from client briefing to final flight test.

The successful candidate will have a deep understanding of drone development, with 4+ years of experience in hardware and firmware development. They will be well-versed in ArduPilot, MAVLink, Mission Planner, tuning, and debugging, as well as having strong C/C++, Python, and systems integration skills.

This role requires someone who can lead technically, troubleshoot across hardware and software, and manage execution. A bonus would be experience with PX4, ROS, UAVCAN, or having led full-stack UAV projects.

Key responsibilities include architecting drone systems from flight controller to payloads, telemetry, and companion compute, customizing and tuning ArduPilot firmware for performance, autonomy, and reliability, and owning system integration, testing, documentation, and post-deployment support.
