The role of data analytics specialist in internal audits is a crucial one. The specialist must possess strong analytical skills and be able to extract valuable insights from large datasets.

Responsibilities:
  • Integrate data analytic routines into the design, testing, and documentation of audit programs within internal audits.
  • Cultivate relationships with data owners to understand available data resources, information flow, and ways to leverage information in the audit process.
  • Develop and implement automated, reusable data analytics scripts focusing on financial, operational, and regulatory processes. Conduct data extraction, formatting, analysis, and validation to identify internal control breakdowns and noncompliances.
  • Enhance the data analytics capability within the team by upskilling members.
  • Support internal audit operational activities, including fulfilling all MIS reporting requests from management.
  • Ensure timely and thorough completion of internal audit-related regulatory compliance activities, such as tracking and coordinating the submission of audit materials to local regulators.
  • Fulfill other ad-hoc planning team duties as requested by management.
