Job Description

As a seasoned mechanical systems engineering lead, you will be responsible for overseeing the design and engineering of complex mechanical systems with an emphasis on piping work.

Our ideal candidate will have extensive experience in mechanical and piping engineering for process plants and will possess strong leadership skills to effectively manage a team of engineers and designers.

In this role, you will provide technical guidance and mentorship to team members, ensuring their professional development and growth within the company.

You will also be responsible for establishing efficient workflows, systems, and procedures for mechanical/piping engineering design work and implementing comprehensive quality control procedures for all mechanical/piping deliverables.

Required Skills and Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical/Chemical/Environmental Engineering or better.
  • Minimum 15 years' proven experience in mechanical and piping engineering for process plants.
  • At least 5 years' experience in leadership or team lead role.
  • Extensive knowledge of piping engineering, design principles, and mechanical systems for process plants.
  • Proficiency in relevant industry standards (ASME, ASTM, API, etc.) and Singapore codes of practice.
  • Strong understanding of materials selection, piping stress analysis, valves, and mechanical specifications.
  • Demonstrated ability to prepare accurate mechanical system cost estimations for tenders.
  • Proficient in MS Office applications.
  • Familiarity with AutoCAD 2D and BIM software (Autodesk, Bentley, etc.).
  • Strong leadership abilities with proven track record of effective team management.
  • Exceptional problem-solving and troubleshooting skills for complex technical issues.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills for facilitating technical discussions.
