Job Title: Therapy Support Professional

We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Therapy Support Professional to join our team. In this role, you will play a vital part in supporting therapists before, during, and after therapy sessions, ensuring seamless service delivery.

Clinical Responsibilities

  • Perform prescribed therapeutic exercises and activities as instructed by therapists
  • Assist therapists in assessing clients' suitability for therapy sessions or continuation
  • Conduct routine assessments and outcome measures for clients as prescribed by therapists
  • Record therapy sessions according to established templates
  • Communicate information about therapy sessions to therapists
  • Educate clients and caregivers on therapeutic interventions as instructed by therapists
  • Manage and conduct therapy sessions independently for straightforward cases after discussion with therapists
  • Lead basic or routine group therapy sessions
  • Ensure proper use of equipment including technological-assisted rehabilitation tools

Administrative and Program Related Duties

  • Maintain cleanliness and safety of therapy areas
  • Adhere to infection control procedures and ensure volunteer compliance
  • Assist in setting up and conducting trials of new equipment and projects
  • Provide support in training therapy assistants and senior therapy assistants
  • Participate in case discussions with the clinical team using a multidisciplinary approach
  • Engage in continuous professional development

Requirements

  • Degree in Physiotherapy or Occupational Therapy
  • At least 2 years of experience in a similar position in the healthcare sector
  • Interest in working with stroke survivors
  • A team player with excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Patient and gentle disposition with empathy and strong listening skills
