Electrical Engineer - Deck Machinery

We are seeking a skilled Electrical Engineer - Deck Machinery to join our team. The successful candidate will have experience with marine crane and deck machinery makers such as MacGREGOR, IHI, MITSUBISHI, LIEBHERR, TTS MARINE, TSUJI, and HATLAPA.

The ideal candidate will have at least 5 years of experience sailing as an Electrical Officer on bulkers equipped with deck cranes and will have carried out troubleshooting and repairing Marine Cranes, Windlasses & other hydraulic systems on board.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Troubleshoot electrical, hydraulic and mechanical problems independently
  • Supervise a team of mechanics and carry out large repair projects as Lead Engineer on board, on voyage and in Ship Yards
  • Write technical reports and communicate with owners' representatives

A background in PLC controlled electro-hydraulic cranes & hydraulic machinery is essential. Experience with variable frequency drives (VFD) is an added advantage.

Required Qualifications and Skills

To be considered for this role, candidates must have:

  • At least 5 years of experience as an Electrical Officer on bulkers equipped with deck cranes
  • In-depth knowledge and understanding of PLC controlled electro-hydraulic cranes & hydraulic machinery
  • Ability to read and comprehend electric and hydraulic diagrams
  • Able to work independently and as part of a team

Candidates with previous employment as service engineer with one of the leading deck crane manufacturers will be given preference.
