Key Responsibilities:
  • Oversight of the Credit Management department's overall functions, ensuring policies, systems, and procedures align with business objectives.
  • Reviewing trading representatives' and clients' trading exposures and limits.
  • Monitoring collection of outstanding contra losses, reviewing monthly status reports, and addressing escalations as needed.
  • Liaising with solicitors regarding litigation matters and representing the firm in credit-related legal and regulatory queries.
  • Handling queries from the Stock Exchange related to trading representatives and/or clients.
  • Approving various requests, such as amendments, payment extensions, privilege waivers, and trust account withdrawals.
  • Reviewing and managing financial matters, including remisiers' commission payments, dealer statements, and payouts, ensuring they align with risk and credit policies.
  • Handling complaints from trading representatives and clients professionally and in accordance with regulatory and internal policies.
  • Instituting and enforcing systems and controls to manage risk exposures and ensure compliance with SGX, MAS, and other regulatory requirements.

Principal Accountabilities:

  • Oversight of trading exposures and contra losses.
  • Ensuring conformance with regulatory requirements.
  • Credit risk management and mitigation.
  • Timely and accurate handling of client and representative queries, including Stock Exchange inquiries.

Requirements:

  • Outstanding academic record with a degree in Business, Finance, or Economics; a master's degree or relevant certifications (e.g., CFA, FRM) is preferred.
  • Minimum 15 years of experience in credit risk management or related fields in the securities brokerage or financial industry.
  • Strong analytical and risk assessment skills.
  • Deep understanding of financial products and regulatory frameworks, including SGX and MAS requirements.
  • Exceptional stakeholder management and communication abilities.
  • Proven track record in managing teams.
  • Detail-oriented with excellent problem-solving and decision-making skills.
