Senior Oil Trading Specialist

Job Description:

The role of Senior Oil Trading Specialist is a challenging and rewarding position that requires a strong understanding of the oil trading business operations, refining processes, and transactions. As a senior specialist, you will be responsible for maintaining a quality forward curve for the desk/team, updating and marking values.

You will also contribute significantly to the revenue of the desk by developing new business prospects through contact with potential clients. Maintaining relationships with existing clients is crucial in this role, as it helps drive business growth and revenue.

In addition to these responsibilities, you will drive market research for the desk and provide insights to internal and external stakeholders. You will also design and conduct training programs for junior team members and other internal stakeholders.

Guiding and training juniors on the desk is essential to ensure their growth within the team. Your ability to motivate and lead junior team members is critical to the success of the desk.

Required Skills and Qualifications:
  • About 3 years of experience in physical and/or swaps brokering.
  • Strong understanding of physical oil trading business operations, refining processes, and transactions.
  • A strong and active clientele base.
  • Excellent numerical skills.
  • Sufficient analytical skills.
  • Driven, able to motivate juniors and be a team player.
  • Familiarity with Bloomberg/Eikon Terminal/Platts.
  • Able to work across Asian/European market hours.
  • Effortless movement between remote and office setup.
  • Thrives in cross-cultural work environments.
