Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled Chef to join our culinary team at WELSTAND INTERNATIONAL PTE. LTD.

About the Role

This is an exciting opportunity for a passionate and experienced Indian cuisine chef to showcase their culinary expertise in a fast-paced environment.

You will be responsible for planning, directing, controlling, coordinating, training, and participating in food preparation and daily kitchen activities, ensuring high-quality standards and specifications are met.

Key Responsibilities
  • Plan, prepare, and cook a wide variety of North and South Indian dishes, including traditional briyanis, dosas, chutneys, pratas, and meals.
  • Mange operations, budgeting, food and labor costing, forecasting, stock control, resource planning, staffing, inventory, and waste management.
  • Develop and initiate cost-cutting ideas without compromising quality and taste.
  • Approve and refine dishes before serving to ensure exceptional customer experience.
  • Actively participate in kitchen training, supporting junior staff and trainees in their development.
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory standards for food safety, quality, health, and hygiene at all times.
Requirements
  • Diploma or degree in culinary arts or related field.
  • At least 4 years of working experience in the Indian cuisine industry.
  • Highly skilled in cooking techniques and comprehensive knowledge of both North and South Indian cuisines (Vegetarian & Non-Vegetarian).
  • Able to cook different types of Indian briyanis, dosa, chutneys, and Satti Soru.
  • Skilled in prata making and able to cook various prata varieties.
  • Knowledgeable about herbs and spices in food preparation and cooking Indian dishes traditionally.
  • Bilingual in English and Tamil (preferable).
  • Class 3 Driving License (preferable).
  • Ability to work on weekends and public holidays if necessary.
  • Excellent time management and multitasking skills.
Salary Information

The estimated annual salary for this role is $60,000 - $80,000 SGD, depending on experience and qualifications.
